I built UltraCur Wholesale from the ground up using the Shopify Concept Theme, tailored specifically to serve as a wholesale platform for the brand. One of the key features I implemented was a dynamic “Science Behind the Brand” archive, powered by Metaobjects. This setup allows the client to easily create and manage content entries that feed into the archive, ensuring a structured and visually appealing presentation of their research and scientific data.
Additionally, I introduced restricted content rules to enhance the site’s exclusivity for wholesale customers. Certain pages are accessible only to logged-in users with customer access, and instead of merely showing a “Login/Create an Account” modal, I used Liquid conditionals to modify the body tag dynamically. This allowed for stylistic enhancements, such as blurring restricted content for users without access, improving both functionality and user experience.
To streamline the purchase process while maintaining compliance, I customized the cart drawer with a unique functionality: users cannot proceed to checkout until they acknowledge the purchase terms. This involves reading the terms and actively checking an “accept” checkbox. These tailored solutions ensured that the website met the client’s wholesale requirements while delivering a polished and user-friendly experience.
